The Scouting program is very important here at Poplar Tent Presbyterian!
Scouting America BSA Troop 38 & Troop 4038
Scouting America – BSA Troop 38 of Concord, North Carolina was chartered in the spring of 1968 by Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church. As of July 2025, we have produced 123 Eagle Scouts and counting!
Troop 4038, our Girls Troop was added in the Spring of 2023. As of June 2025, we have our 1st female Eagle Scout, with more currently working towards that goal.
We belong to the Goldrush District of the Central North Carolina Council of the Scouting America BSA.
Both Troops meet on Tuesday’s from 7:00 PM to – 8:30 PM. Our Boys Troop (38) meet in the church’s Multi-Purpose Building (Scout Hut) Location: 6881 Poplar Tent Road Concord NC 28027. Our Girls Troop (4038) meets in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Location: 6861 Poplar Tent Road Concord NC 28027. We follow the Cabarrus County school holiday schedule and don’t meet most holidays occurring on Tuesday.

Cub Pack 38
Scouting America Pack 38, helps K-5 boys and girls develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives. Their meetings are held on Monday nights from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in both our Multi-Purpose Building (Scout Hut) Location: 6881 Poplar Tent Road Concord NC 28027 & the Church’s Fellowship Hall Location: 6861 Poplar Tent Road Concord NC 28027. The Pack also follows the Cabarrus County School Schedule and only meets during the school year. Our Cub Pack host an annual Breakfast with Santa that is always such a fun time for all!
